Thoughtfully curated around you

Storytelling, planning and curation for couples dreaming of an intimate celebration in Watamu.

Designed around what matters to you

Every couple arrives with a different background, a different vision and a different way of experiencing the world.
That's why every experience begins with listening.
Together, we'll shape a celebration that reflects your values, your rhythm and the way you want to remember this moment.
From quiet mornings by the ocean to intimate gatherings with your closest people, every detail is curated with intention and care.

How it works

1

Let's connect

We begin with a conversation. I want to understand your story, your vision, what excites you and what kind of experience you are dreaming about.
2

Shaping the experience

Together we'll create an experience tailored to your rhythm and travel style. From accommodation suggestions and transportation logistics to local experiences and trusted contacts, I'll help you navigate the possibilities that Watamu has to offer.
3

Presence and curation

Once you arrive, my role shifts from planning to be there as a calm and trusted presence, quietly taking care of what happens behind the scenes and allowing the experience to unfold naturally. Your only task will be to slow down, experience Watamu and be present with each other.
4

Storytelling

Photography, films or both.
Your experience will be documented through an emotional and atmospheric approach inspired by movement, natural light and genuine connection.

Example experiences

Ocean Elopement

For lovers of the sea, warm light and barefoot moments.
1 day experience
A slow experience shaped by the rhythm of the ocean. Sunrise walks along white-sand beaches, an intimate ceremony by the water, a sunset dhow cruise and a private dinner beneath the stars.
Perfect for couples who dream of simplicity, connection and endless horizons.

Creek & Hidden Places

For those who seek atmosphere, nature and a deeper connection with Watamu.
2 days experience
Explore quiet corners of the coast, hidden beaches, mangrove forests and places that reveal themselves slowly. Exchange your vows surrounded by nature, watch the sun disappear over the creek and share an intimate dinner on a stilted deck above the water.
A journey designed around discovery, beauty and the slower rhythm of coastal Kenya.

Bush & Ocean

For couples who want to experience two souls of Kenya in one journey.
4 days experience
Begin with the stillness of the savannah and the thrill of encountering wildlife in their natural habitat. Then continue your celebration on the coast, where the pace slows, the ocean breeze takes over and the days unfold gently between sea, nature and meaningful moments.
A blend of adventure, intimacy and unforgettable landscapes.

These experiences can be enjoyed as standalone photography sessions,
surprise proposals, intimate celebrations or multi-day elopements.

Investment

Every experience begins with a different story.
For this reason, I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all packages.
Every proposal is thoughtfully tailored around the couple, the season, the desired level of support and the type of experience you wish to create.

Whether you’re dreaming of a photography experience, a surprise proposal, an intimate celebration or a multi-day journey in Watamu, the goal is always the same: creating something meaningful, personal and true to you.

Smaller experiences and tailored options are also available.

Accommodation, transportation and third-party experiences are quoted separately according to your travel style, preferences and the season.

My goal is to help you create memories that feel authentic to who you are, while preserving the atmosphere, emotions and moments that make your experience unique.

FAQ

Absolutely. Whether you’re celebrating an anniversary, a special trip, a proposal or simply want to preserve your time in Watamu, photography experiences can be booked independently.

Absolutely.
One of my roles is helping you navigate the destination with confidence. Having spent more than twenty years visiting Watamu, I can guide you through practical aspects, local culture and the rhythm of life on the Kenyan coast, helping you feel prepared while embracing the beauty of the unexpected.

Yes. While many couples choose a private elopement, others prefer to celebrate with a small circle of loved ones. Experiences can be designed for just the two of you or for intimate gatherings with family and close friends.

It depends entirely on your needs. Some couples simply need guidance and local recommendations, while others prefer a more hands-on approach with support throughout the planning process and on-site presence during the experience.

I can help you shape the overall experience, including accommodation suggestions, transportation support, local experiences, trusted contacts, ceremony ideas and the flow of your days in Watamu.

The goal is not to follow a fixed itinerary, but to create an experience that feels personal and aligned with your vision.

No. Accommodation, transportation and third-party experiences are arranged separately and tailored to your preferences, travel style and budget.

I’ll help you navigate the options and connect you with trusted local contacts, but every experience remains flexible and personalised.

There is no fixed duration.
Some couples choose a simple one-day celebration, while others prefer to spend two or three days immersed in the experience, allowing time to slow down, explore the area and fully embrace the atmosphere of Watamu.
In general, I often recommend at least two or three days. This creates space for meaningful moments, beautiful light, unique locations and a more relaxed rhythm, without feeling rushed.

Understanding your overall experience budget helps me make recommendations that feel realistic and aligned with your priorities.

Some couples dream of a simple and intimate escape, while others wish to include private experiences, extended stays or a safari. Knowing your priorities allows me to curate an experience that truly reflects you.

Hakuna Matata: one of the most beautiful things about Kenya is that it teaches you to embrace a different rhythm.

Weather, tides and unexpected moments are all part of the experience. While careful planning is important, some of the most memorable moments happen when we leave space for spontaneity.

Not at all. Many couples reach out with only a feeling, an idea or a dream. The first conversation is simply an opportunity to explore possibilities together and understand whether we’re the right fit for each other.

Watamu is ideal for couples who love nature, slow travel and meaningful experiences. If you’re looking for authenticity, warm light, ocean air and a celebration that feels deeply personal, it may be the perfect place for you.

In most cases, yes β€” but it depends on the type of support you initially booked.
If you’ve chosen the Presence & Curation experience, there is often flexibility to add photography, film or both later in the planning process, depending on availability.

If you’ve booked only Experience Planning, I may not be physically in Kenya during your dates. In addition, storytelling is a very personal part of the experience and reflects my individual creative approach, which is why it cannot simply be delegated to another photographer or filmmaker.
But no panic πŸ™‚ For this reason, I always recommend discussing your storytelling wishes as early as possible, even if you’re not ready to make a final decision.
